Bohren & der Club of Gore are a noir jazz band founded in 1992 in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany by Thorsten Benning (drums), Morten Gass (keys), Reiner Henseleit (guitar), and Robin Rodenberg (upright / double bass). They play a crossover of jazz and ambient, which they self described as an “unholy ambient mixture of slow jazz ballads, Black Sabbath doom and down tuned Autopsy sounds”. Over the years they have continously reduced and compressed their music to extremes.

I don't understand the album cover? So don't judge a book by it's cover. If your into slow ambient music i recommend you check out gore motel.

The Archivist‏ - as the owls watch below demo

2009
Vanguard Assault (ltd. to only 100 copies)
vbr

'The Archivist' is one woman black metal project by Witch from Australia.

I'm not very good at writing reviews but here but here you go....

The Archivist‏ - as the owls watch below demo is Brilliant black metal played with emotion, Raw yet atmospheric with fantastic acoustic guitars and nature sounds, the rawness really reminds my of the better bands from the LLN horde from the early/mid 90s and even the structures of Americas Luftwaffe Raid - Empire demo.

"as the owls watch below" Is one of the best demos i heard this year and i highly recommend you pick it up. I really love the acoustic work on this tape, I big thanks goes out to Witch who was so kind as to send me a copy of her work. Thank you and please keep up the creativity, this black metal played with emotion, heart and soul.

This Tape is very limited so contact http://www.vanguardassault.com/ to get your copy

"Imagine being at a lounge in hell and witnessing this set by former serial killers playing catatonically mellow music. Or, if you're familiar with the TV series "Twin Peaks," imagine hanging out in the Black Lodge and the music that would accompany such an experience."

"Can you imagine jazz being played like it was doom-metal? :) Then try to listen to this release! Music on this CD is rather dark and slow and even heavy sometimes (album cover fits the music perfectly!), but at the same time its not boring. More than this, music is so perfectly played and so fascinating, that its just impossible to turn it off! Actually, its rather long, but you feel it like 10 seconds! Great release! Highly recommended for all lovers of inconventional music."

Lounge Jazz played like Doom Metal, Enjoy this Dark ambient doomjazz from Germany. Thanks goes out to my good friend for turning me onto the amazing band.

However, do not play this on a crappy ipod/mp3 player. Must be heard on a good hi-fi system or a really good set of headphones.

I Highly recommended you give this a listen.

7. Die Reife Zum Aar
...Based on folkloric elements taken from Nordic/Germanic tales, the compositions tell about battlefields, sagas and the mighty Taunus Mountains, their main source of inspiration. The four musicians incorporate more folkloric instruments such as mouth harp, flutes, acoustic guitars and foghorn into a Black Metal canvas which becomes almost an old school style while keeping at all times an epic feel throughout the opus. Good crushing riffs and kicking drums and bass with ugly black metal vocals...
